Psychoanalytic Studies Program

For those scholars who would like to take their studies beyond the one year Affiliate Scholars Program, the Psychoanalytic Center is currently developing a Psychoanalytic Studies Program based on the Morningside campus.

The program will be a certificate granting (not MA granting) academic program for graduate students and undergraduate upperclassmen who want to learn about psychoanalytic theory to advance their scholarly work in an allied field (such as philosophy of literary theory).

It will be open, with a minimal application process, to students already enrolled at Columbia undergraduate and graduate schools. There will be no additional tuition. Some of the courses within the program will be unique to and created by the program. Others will be courses offered by allied departments that will count towards the certificate.

Anticipated launch date - Sept 2010.

The program is co-sponsored by The Sigmund Freud Foundation, Austria
