The Lionel Ovesey Award, begun in 1997, is given jointly by the Center and the Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine to a candidate or recent graduate at the Psychoanalytic Center who was significantly involved in original research, made an important contribution to the psychoanalytic literature, or was the primary person responsible for developing an innovative teaching or treatment program that has psychodynamic theory of treatment as its primary component.
