Professional Biography 

Dr. Ali graduated from Swarthmore College with a double major in comparative literature and biology. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, she completed her residency and Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital in 2009 and served as chief resident in her final year there. She worked as an inpatient attending at the New York State Psychiatric Institute for several years and has been in private practice in Greenwich Village since 2010. She continues to teach medical students and supervise psychiatry residents in psychodynamic psychotherapy and starting a private practice. In her clinical practice, she focuses on mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, culture and identity, and difficulties relating to emerging adulthood.
